Globen

Bilderna togs 23:40 20120506. Lyckades klämma in ett avsnitt av ”The Grid” med Scott Kelby, skrattade nästan högt när de diskuterade ”mörkerrum” .

E18 at night…

First snow winter 2011/2012 Karlstad.

Took a short walk.

Time to put the winter tyres on...

Cold and creepy :)

Runestone in Ve/Väse.

Took a short trip to Väse to shoot the runestone in Ve. The idea to shoot the stone at night came up at an earlier night shoot. The idea was to get a sky full of stars and the runestone in the foreground. This was not easy, it was dark as hell and pretty cold (-4°C). When I came home i saw that the stone was slightly out of focus :( . With a little manipulation in photoshop I managed to sharpen up the runes.

Runes: uibiurn * bruþur * sin. English: Vebjorn by his brother

Night sky

Both pictures shot from the top of Bryngfjorden.

Karlstad city on the left. Skoghallsverken (industry) to the right of Karlstad. Above Skoghallsverken is the star constellation Aquila.

Karlavagnen/Stora björn (Big dipper) över Skåre, strax norr om Karlstad.

Shooting night sky with Nikon d300s using Tokina 11-16mm

Did a simple test with different setting just to see what results I could get with a Nikon d300s and a Tokina 11-16mm lens. Shoot this pictures in RAW and edited them in Photoshop CS5. Noise reduction for high ISO is activated (in camera) and also noise reduction for long exposures. Pretty decent results I think. Think I will try to shoot more at night when I will have the opportunity.

Exposure time 23 s. A f/2.8, focal length 11mm, ISO 6400, manual mode. This picture got pretty overexposed, fixed that in photoshop. Also fixed some noise and sharpening in photoshop.

Exposure 18s, Aperture f/2.8,focal length 11mm, ISO 800. Did not change much regarding exposure in this picture, noise and sharpening in photoshop to a certain degree. The lighter parts of the picture is light from the city that I live close to.

Exposure 23s, Aperture f72.8, focal length 11 mm, ISO 6400. Fixed some sharpening and noise in Photoshop. A little tendency to getting "trails". You can see the bid dipper over the chimney.

Running around with a flashlight…

in deep snow is fun!

Exposure 122 sec. f/8.0

Adding som flares which is ironic as I usually hate flares :)

Playing with hue/saturation in several different layers to get this result.

20101217 Skattkärr

Shot at Skattkärr by the lake Vänern. In the summer you can take your car by ferry from this place to an island called

Jäverön. In the winter you simple drive on the ice to get to the island. This pictures are shot in almost complete darkness.

View towards Karlstad, iceroad. City light reflected in the clouds.

Slightly different angle.

Parkinglot, same location.reeds blowing in the wind. Painted with light (flashlight)
